Review: As I Am Suffering From Kadhal - A Web Series

Disclaimer: Let me make it clear, I am not a professional reviewer and this is the first time ever I am reviewing something, just because I love it.

For those who have no clue about what I am talking about, please have a look at the trailer of this awesome romantic, crazy, web series that got released with all its ten beautiful episodes in a single day on June 16th, 2017.

As I Am Suffering From Kadhal is the new web series launched by Trendloud. The series will be telecasted in Hotstar from June 16th, 2017. I would say this is a funny, romantic, trendy web series with "Madras Bashai" style dialogues.

The web series comprises of ten episodes and it is the story of three young couples, and a dad & daughter. The series has romance, humour and sentiments too. Not only producing the series, Balaji Mohan has directed it, and also performed as one of the couples in it.

For those who don't know Balaji Mohan, he's the director of the films Kadhalil Sodhapuvadhu Eppadi, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Maari. There were similar notable web series that involved famous actors from Kollywood include "Black Sheep" by Rascalas, starring Janaki Sabesh and Jeeva Ravi. We also have another similar web series, "Ctrl + Alt + Del" by Put Chutney.

One of the funniest dialogues that too said by Dhanya...

Otha kitta vandhey kottailaye midhippen.

The show features different types of love stages:

  1. Illipu (Simpering)
  2. Kaduppu (Irritation)
  3. Veruppu (Hatred)
  4. Escapeu (Run Away)

Why wait to get married? How many times would you do it? How frequently?

What's love? Kadhal na enna?

And there's a full song too... Ding Dong Ding...

Fun chat with the team.

You can watch the whole series at HotStar. The series is released as bilingual in both Tamil and Telugu.

Review

Overall, as in every aspect, the whole series is a good one. We can very well compare to the leading series like How I met your mom and Friends, and after this attempt, people have also started asking if this is going to be similar to those.

As the director and crew intended, the series will make a big hit among the youngsters, particularly for using the language. You can't be expecting comedy, the whole time. It is stuffed at certain places, which are totally apt for the series to give a big hit.

Only part that was disappointing was, the climax, of course. I don't want to reveal it, but it would have been better if the climax was a positive outcome of the couples, which ... Er, go watch it and find it out.

Even though there are a small loop holes in the series, we can blame the first of its kind for this. It is definitely a massive good start from Balaji Mohan and team, for the first time, a bilingual, web series, ten episodes, released in a single day, and everything for free. My only wait is for the Season 2 of this series. Expecting a lot from the same team.
